Amy Vanderlyke is experienced in resolving serious personal injury cases in both jury trials and alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation. She routinely handles construction-related injuries, matters of defective and unsafe products, and wrongful death matters.  She also handles cases involving motor vehicle accidents, slip/trip-and-falls, broken bones, and animal attacks. She also handles the prosecution and defense of First Amendment, Internet, and media law claims.

Ms. Vanderlyke is a graduate of State University of New York at Oswego (B.A. Journalism) and has earned degrees from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications (M.A., Magazine, Newspaper, Online Journalism and M.S., New Media) and the School of Education (M.S., Instructional Design, Development, and Evaluation). She is also a graduate of Syracuse University College of Law, where she was Form and Accuracy Editor of the Syracuse Science and Technology Law Reporter and a member of Moot Court Honor Society and the Communications Policy and Law Society Moot Court team.

She is admitted to practice before all New York State courts and U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York. She is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, Onondaga County Bar Association, Wayne County Bar Association, Central New York Women’s Bar Association, and New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers.

Ms. Vanderlyke is an adjunct professor at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where she teaches Communications Law.  From 2005-2010 she was a faculty member at SUNY Oswego, where she taught Media Law, lectured on Freedom of Information Law, and mentored undergraduate communications studies students in pre-law matters.

She is on the executive committee of the board of directors of The Advocates for Upstate Medical University and currently serves as the organization's vice president. Ms. Vanderlyke is also a board member of the Syracuse University Law Alumni Association, where she also serves as an Alumni Ambassador to accepted and admitted students and regularly speaks to and mentors currently enrolled students.  She is also a board member of the the SUNY Oswego Alumni Association.  She previously served as a member of the SUNY Oswego Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) Counsel and was a member of its Fundraising Committee. She is also a volunteer attorney for Say Yes To Education, Syracuse.

Ms. Vanderlyke is also a 2011 recipient of the Syracuse Business Journal's 40 Under Forty Award, awarded annually to a select group of young leaders who have made significant civic and professional contributions to the Syracuse community.
