Redmond to Speak at Elder Law CLE
Associate Shelby Redmond, Esq. will speak at the New York State Bar Association's Basic Elder Law Practice Continuing Legal Education on May 20, 2013 at the Sheraton Syracuse University Hotel & Conference Center. She will be speaking on the topic of Advanced Directives. Ms. Redmond practices in Sugarman Law Firm's Trusts and Estates/Elder Law Department where she provides counsel on estate planning, administration of estates, elder law, Medicaid and claims for disabled individuals.
February 15, 2013 Pesarchick to Speak at DRI Trucking Law Seminar
Partner Stephen Pesarchick, Esq. will speak on the topic of Trucking Discovery and Experts at the Defense Research Institute's seminar entitled "Defending Truckign Litigation - A Primer for Young Lawyers" on June 7, 2013. Mr. Pesarchick's practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury and property damage cases. February 12, 2013 Fogel Receives No Cause from Oswego County Jury
Partner Danielle Mikalajunas Fogel received a no cause from an Oswego County jury on Monday, February 11, 2013. Ms. Fogel represented a physician who was alleged to have failed to diagnose neurological Lyme Disease. The jury unanimously rejected the plaintiff's theory and determined that the physician was not negligent.
January 25, 2013 Bruffett Elected Town of Cicero Judge
Associate David Bruffett, Jr., Esq., was elected on November 6, 2012, to a four-year term as Cicero Town Judge to replace outgoing judge Robert Walczyk. Mr. Bruffett is a member of the Onondaga County Magistrates Association and the New York State Magistrates Association.

January 9, 2013 Gumaer Presents to American Council of Engineering Companies
On January 9, 2013, Partner Matt Gumaer, Esq. offered a seminar for the local chapter of the ACEC (American Council of Engineering Companies) with respect to the growing insistence of project owners on the inclusion of broad indemnity clauses in their Owner-Engineer agreements. Issues discussed included the risk associated with agreement to broad indemnity clauses, the insurability of the resulting obligations, and ways for design professionals to constructively raise and discuss these issues with project owners. Mr. Gumaer focuses on the representation of architects, engineers, and surveyors in matters including contract negotiation and drafting, providing legal support during difficult projects, and defending claims against design professionals.
